The early years of a business are often its most important. From an idea spawns an enterprise from which a product or service is developed, a market must be penetrated, in turn customers are acquired and most importantly retained so that repeat revenue can trigger advanced growth through future funding rounds.

The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) are UK government schemes designed to help smaller higher-risk trading companies raise finance, by offering a range of tax relief to investors who purchase new shares in those companies.
