We are looking for high-calibre Senior Accountant to join our expanding organisation.

You will be self-motivated, able to work to tight deadlines, have excellent interpersonal, supervisory and advisory skills together with an ability and interest in understanding our clients’ business.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • You will be required to:
    • Ensure timely preparation of accounts within internal deadlines
    • Review financial accounts, management accounts and VAT returns prepared by the bookkeeping team
    • Computation of Income Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE
    • Identify tax planning opportunities for clients.
    • Respond to all client, Manager and Partner telephone requests.
    • Undertake any work with a view to profitability and use the opportunity to review WIP and debtors.
    • Assist Partner in client meetings, if requested to do so. Acting as a responsible member of the team, providing support, development and guidance to more junior members.
    • Producing work for Manager and Partner review which requires little further input, clearly highlights issues and provides potential solutions to issues identified.
    • Provide assistance to the Pharmacy team, Team Leaders and Manager as required.

Technical Requirements

  • Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in tax and relevant accounting standards is a must
  • Effective organisational skills with strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Qualified ACCA or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Audit experience is desirable but not a must
  • Experience in dealing with asset or company sale/purchase due diligence
  • Preferable experience working with community pharmacy clients
  • Working knowledge – Xero, Sage Line 50; CCH Central and Caseware
